Unlike academic students enrolled in post secondary education, an apprentice begins earning an income on the first day of work with increments every six months until he or she is fully qualified.

The average mechanical skill trades person earns $65,000 per year. It can go even higher with the specialized skill sets. In the mechanical trades, the opportunities are so great that once a person is a qualified journeyman, he or she will probably never be unemployed.
